One Week, and a Chance of Snow.

One week until Taos Ski Valley opens for 08/09 season. I remember finding out that the ski valley was going to let snowboards ride for a full season about this time last year, but not until this year. it was bitter sweet, I was very happy but felt like a child before Christmas waiting for the big day.
That big day is almost here.

Also the weather is calling for a chance of snow today, and colder weather for this week. It seems like if only one place in Taos county gets snow it is the ski valley.
Hope For Snow.

Too Warm!

It is too warm here, 65 today, i spoke with someone who blows snow at the ski valley. He said they were making snow every night, and that is was stacking up. I asked what the day time highs have been and he said not above 50. I Should explain something I live in the town of Taos, Taos Ski Valley is its own village, and about 25 miles by road from Taos. The temp at the ski valley tends to be 10-20 degrees lower.

Too Warm!

The next few days are going to get warmer and no snow in the 7 day forecast. Not good.
I hope the week before the 27Th is cold with allot of snow.

Hope for More Snow

No new snow, its might get warm again, Please great weatherman in the sky bring us snow and cold weather. Well it is what it is. I am getting all my gear ready. I washed and sprayed my jacket with plastic spray stuff, now its time for my pants gloves and all my outerwear. If you wash snow pants jacket ect. it is good to respray them with weather proofing spray.

First Real Snow Storm of the Season

Well its just over 2 weeks till Taos Sky Valley opens for the 08/09 season. We got a real snow storm. 6 inches of powder, no trails are open no lifts are running but look at the mountain, what a beautiful sight. We need a couple more storms by Nov 27 (Opening Day) and 08/09 will be off to a great start.
